Dr. Meagan Slate is a board-eligible OB/GYN who was born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida. She loves connecting with her patients on a personal level and treasures being their source of wellbeing and comfort amongst the stress of everyday life. Dr. Slate has developed an unwavering passion for minimally invasive surgery. During her training, she traveled overseas to several of the top European hospitals, perfecting her surgical skills for a variety of gynecologic procedures. It was during this time that she recognized the importance of perioperative wellness, which led her to initiate an Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program at her institution. She continues to utilize these tools to ensure that her patients always experience an enhanced recovery. The success of her design in minimizing narcotic use was recognized by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL), who invited Dr. Slate to speak at their Global Congress in Vancouver, Canada.
Dr. Slate completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Florida, and received her medical degree from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. She completed her residency training at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. Both she and her husband, John, are very excited to settle down in the D.C. area. As an avid athlete during her youth, Dr. Slate learned to apply the same principles of dedication, perseverance, and teamwork to her pursuit as an OB/GYN. If she is not seeing patients at the office or performing robotic surgery at Sibley Hospital, you may spot Dr. Slate jogging along the Capital Crescent Trail, wine tasting at a local vineyard, or unwinding with her husband in their 1990 Volkswagen Westfalia campervan
