Things you might not know about Me

Places I've Lived: San Juan, PR; Providence, RI; Rochester, NY; Bethlehem, PA

Education/Training: Brown University (BA), Brown University School of Public Health (MS), University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry (MD), St. Luke’s University Health Network (Residency)

Why OB/GYN? During medical school, I fell in love with the hustle and bustle of a busy labor floor. That, combined with my love of the operating room, got me hooked. I love that every day is a little different, and that I get to form long-term, lasting relationships with my patients. And delivering babies is pretty freaking awesome.

Who Knew: My secret dream job is to become a Top Chef judge...all that yummy food!

Travel Memories: Visiting the Mayan ruins of Chichén Itzá in Mexico, Biking over the Golden Gate Bridge, Eating the best food in the world in Porto and Barcelona

Someday I plan to go to: On safari!

These are some things I do in my spare time: Hug my son Julián, cook elaborate dinners (while sipping on some vino), pet my Westie Milo, watch the NY Giants with my husband on football Sundays

A really big accomplishment: Breastfeeding my son through a busy residency. Definitely one of the hardest things I’ve done. Really looking forward to helping my patients achieve all their breastfeeding/feeding goals while at Bloom. It really does take a village, and I am excited to become part of yours.

Favorite Book: Harry Potter, all day (love all the books, but Prisoner of Azkaban has a special place in my heart)

Favorite TV Show: The Good Place (perfect series finale). Currently watching The Sopranos for the first time, and I finally get what all the hype was about.

Favorite Words: Whatever my son’s first word ends up being (hopefully Mamá)

Favorite Quote: “Why do people shush animals? They’ve never spoken.” - John Mulaney

Favorite Food: A good cheese plate, anything Mexican (love tacos al pastor!), homemade bolognese (Marcella Hazan’s recipe for the win)

What superpower would you most like to have? The ability to control and manipulate time. There’s no topping that.
