We have some happy news to share! This summer, three new providers are joining the Bloom OB/GYN team, and we could are excited to introduce them to you.
Growing our practice means more than adding names to a schedule. It means we can see you sooner, spend the time your care deserves, and keep building the relationships that have defined Bloom OB/GYN from the start. Each of these providers was chosen because they share what matters most to us: the belief that every patient deserves to feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for. Here is a little about each of them.
Elizabeth Dougherty, WHNP
Accepting appointments starting July 20, 2026
Elizabeth, who goes by Liz, is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner originally from Erie, Pennsylvania. She earned her Bachelor’s in Nursing at Georgetown University and began her career in the Neonatal ICU at Georgetown University Hospital, caring for newborns alongside their mothers. That experience sparked a love for working with women that has shaped her whole career. She went on to earn her Master’s in Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania and has since practiced women’s health in New York, Boston, and now here in DC.
What drives Liz is helping women navigate their health and wellness with confidence. She is committed to empowering patients through education and individualized care, and to building lasting relationships along the way. Her special interests include PCOS, prenatal nutrition and fitness, postpartum care, teen health, and functional and integrative health. We are especially glad that she shares our commitment to postpartum home visits, a tradition we hold dear.
Outside the office, Liz is usually chasing after her three children or trying to convince her bulldog, Lebron, to go for a walk. She loves baking, running, golf, and tracking down a good new coffee shop.
Dr. Kevin Jiles
Accepting appointments starting August 3, 2026
Dr. Jiles is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist whose care is built on trust, education, and shared decision-making. He earned his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah, Georgia, and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Naval Medical Center San Diego.
Dr. Jiles served eight years as an OB/GYN in the United States Navy, with duty stations at Naval Hospital Okinawa in Japan and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. While at Walter Reed, he also worked as an OB/GYN Hospitalist at Sibley Memorial Hospital here in DC, so he already knows the hospital team for deliveries and surgeries.
His care covers the full range of women’s health, from routine annual exams and contraception counseling to prenatal care, high-risk pregnancy management, menopause care, and the treatment of complex gynecologic conditions. He performs both major and minor gynecologic procedures and is trained in minimally invasive techniques. Above all, he believes every patient deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported throughout their care.
When he is not at the office, Dr. Jiles enjoys time with family, friends, and his two dogs, Reba and Samson, along with traveling, hiking, and trying new experiences.
Dr. Jonathan Blake Calcei
Accepting appointments starting August 31, 2026
Dr. Calcei joins us fresh from completing his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Pennsylvania Hospital, where he was honored with the Collaborative Care Champion Award. Given each year by the hospital’s midwifery practice to a resident physician, the award recognizes outstanding leadership and dedication to team-based maternity care, a fitting reflection of how he approaches medicine.
His training spans the full range of obstetric and gynecologic care. He manages deliveries of every kind along with complex, high-risk pregnancies, and his surgical experience reaches from open abdominal procedures to minimally invasive techniques. During residency he also served on both the Obstetrical and Gynecology Quality Improvement Committees, working to raise the standard of care beyond the bedside.
Teaching has been a thread through his entire path in medicine. He worked as a lead tutor in medical school and taught medical students and interns throughout his residency, earning recognition for his dedication to education. He earned his medical degree from Wright State University, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Calcei brings a patient-centered approach to women’s health, caring for patients across every stage of reproductive life, from preventive care and family planning through pregnancy and delivery.
